When Checkr first opened its doors in 2014, we were a small team working out of a warehouse in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. It’s where we built the foundation of our product, brought on our first customers, and laid the groundwork for our mission of building a fairer future. We’ve come a long way since then, from rolling out new, innovative products to growing our headquarters to over 300 employees. To keep up with the rapid growth and scale our business, we knew we had to expand and tap into new pools of eager, passionate talent. That meant looking beyond our California HQ and extending Checkr across the United States. To that end, we’re excited to share that Checkr will be opening its second headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
Why Denver? We did a fair amount of research and explored a number of cities during our new office search, but time and time again found ourselves coming back to Denver. Through each visit, we found a new pocket of the city to explore and appreciate. Denver not only offers a dynamic economy and thriving community of talented individuals, but is also goodhearted and inclusive—which aligns closely to our mission and company ethos.
We’ll be landing in Denver in the coming months. Initially, we’ll have a team from all functions of our business, including engineering, product, operations, sales, marketing, customer success, and candidate experience, located in the North Capitol Hill area of downtown Denver, as we look to identify permanent office space. We have ambitious hiring goals for our new office and hope to complete our first hiring phase by the end of 2019.
Finally, we’d like to extend a big thank you to Governor Jared Polis, Mayor Michael B. Hancock, and the people of Denver for your warm welcome and continued support. We look forward to being a part of your community, driving positive change, and calling Denver home for many years to come.
